Introduction

Department of Sports Training Science-Combats recruits students from four specific fields, Tae kwon do, Judo, Shootings, Chinese Martial Arts. The primary goal of the department at this crucial stage is to train more elite athletes to compete for the medals in the Olympic Games and the Asian Games.

 

Objectives

The other objectives of the department are:

A. to provide those talented athletes with all the necessary resources and opportunities to participate in international competitions;

B. to recruit students with potentiality in sports and to offer them intensive science-based training;

C. to cultivate national and international coaches competent at special skills; and

D. to train teachers in the field of physical education and health.

Tae kwon do: Since the establishment of the team, team members have had represented the nation to participate in the Olympics, Asian Games, World Championship, World Cup, World University Games, Asian Cup, and other major competitions and won numerous medals. In the summer Olympics held in Athens, 2004, Mu-Yen Chu,won a gold medal in the Olympics.  This amazing feat resulted in a strengthening of ties among people in the whole country.

 

Course Design

Judo: The team was established in 1987,the same year the College was founded. The team has had outstanding performances in international and national competitions. Many alumni have won medals in Asian Games, Asian Cup, World University Games, and other international competitions. To raise the skill levels and have greater achievements, coaches from Japan, Poland, and Korea have been invited to assist in coaching the team.

ShootingsSince the establishment of the team, team members have had represented the nation to participate in the Asian Games, World Championship, World Cup, World University Games, Asian Cup, and other major competitions and won numerous medals.

Chinese Martial ArtsSince the establishment of the team, team members have had represented the nation to participate in the Asian Games, World Championship, World Cup, World University Games, Asian Cup, and other major competitions and won numerous medals.

Tae kwon do:

Since the establishment of the team, team members have had represented the nation to participate in the Olympics, Asian Games, World Championship, World Cup, World University Games, Asian Cup, and other major competitions and won numerous medals. In addition, in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Mu-Yen again Chu honored our school by winning a bronze medal in the event of Taekowndo.
